Memorial Day

Well today has been a memorable day to say the least. Matt told me yesterday not to make any plans for today during the day because he wanted to get semi work done. For those of you who don't know. DuPeire Trucking is getting it's first employee starting next Monday. So Matt has bought another truck and needed to get it ready to go. The boys were out in the shop working on the "pete". Here is Matt working and Bubba eating his ENORMOUS sucker with a bubble gum center!
Austyn buffing the "pete"

Matt working on something.

At this point I go into the house and began to download these pictures. Bubba says I am going to move the pickup to the shop and unload the church stuff. I tell him to be careful. I go to my computer and hear the pickup start and move then I hear a crunch and loud noise and screaming.....my blood goes cold....I throw the camera on the couch on my way out the door and run barefoot across our yard of stickers. Ouch! I see Austyn in the middle of our driveway just screaming at the top of his lungs...whose child is he?? He takes things so good and reacts in such a lovely way! I proceed to direct my eyes to the shop and I see the blue pickup with a garage door laying on it pushed into the green pickup and Bubba getting out of the pickup. I respond not so good with haven't I told you that you are too young to drive. He is bawling and I later feel bad for yelling that at him. I go to the shop and Matt says okay we need to figure this out. He tells me to get in the blue pickup and slowly pull out. As he instructs me I pull forward and then stop so he can try and get the door unhooked. The garage door is being held up by two small cables the rest is on the pickup and wrapped under the bumpers of the blue and green trucks. We almost get it out and a cable pops and Matt gets his finger stuck in it. He hunches over and all I know is that his finger is gone and I am thinking okay how do we do this?? I need to get him some help and All of our vehicles are hooked together! What a scene driving the blue truck to town with a garage door on it pulling a green pickup attached to a boat with a semi behind it. I can so see it now! Anyways Matt is okay he has scrapped up fingers and a big blood blister on one. When this happens; Austyn runs out of the shop as Matt puts it screaming like a little girl! :-) We finally get the blue pickup out and the garage door all the way down. The green pickup just had a few small dents in it. The blue pickup has a messed up bumper, the boat faired no damage and neither did the semi. Matt's pressure washer was crushed under the green pickup and the Kenosis signs have some damage. Now that we look back we are like why didn't we take pictures of when it first happened! At this point Matt and I just look at each other and start laughing. What else can we do? We can't change anything or take anything back. We are praising God that no person was injured and that Austyn was not guiding Bubba back and stuck between the middle of the accident. Life Lessons! Isn't life fun??? Bubba is feeling awful and is very upset but we are trying to encourage him that he can't change it just learn from it. He got the brake and gas pedal mixed up!

We will post some pictures above!!!
